Ministry Wives event at Ministers’ Family Camp 2017
Jenni from the Women’s Ministry Committee writes following the Ministers’ Family Camp last October:
Ministers’ Family Camp is a great opportunity for ministers’ wives from around NSW to make friendships and build relationships with other ministers’ wives. The Women’s Ministry Committee organised an afternoon for ministry wives during the camp, to gather together for Bible teaching, sharing, encouragement and prayer. Thanks to PY for running a childcare program and crèche during this time. Ministry wives were encouraged to check the www.womenministry.org.au and Facebook pages regularly. The women were excited to hear of the imminent appointment of a Women’s Ministry Facilitator and prayed for the woman who will fill this position.
Karen McMillan from Drummoyne PC spoke on Ministry Marriages. She gave an excellent presentation with both Biblical teaching and practical tips gained from her experience. Her talk included group brainstorming on The Impact of Ministry on Marriage and The Power of Marriage in Ministry, giving everyone a chance to share their ministry experiences. Karen also recommended books on marriage which she has found helpful. The women then broke into small groups to share and to pray.
The feedback was very positive and ministry wives appreciate the helpful and practical teaching, the encouragement and the relationship-building.
Thanks to Sylvia who co-organised the event and to Sarah who helped on the day.

Thank you to all who came to the Ministry Wives event!
We were greatly blessed by Tara‘s reminder to gaze on Jesus; Valerie’s practical talk, Cherryn & Anna‘s openness, and all of your commitment to edify and encourage one another.
Special thanks to Jenni & Debbie for all their hard work organising, Janette for her beautiful piano playing, and our incredible childminding team.
A great camp for time out and bible teaching for ministry couples and families. Find out more in the last camps’ brochure to whet your appetite for 2019!
This camp is run by Presbyterian Youth (PY). Each ministry couple should receive information and registration details for the camp. If you haven’t please use the link above to download the information and registration form.
The Women’s Ministry Task Force has found that organising part day lunch or morning tea get togethers to be highly beneficial. The aim is to get to know others in the local region, study God’s Word and discuss the challenges and needs of ministers’ wives. It is also a time to share experiences and to offer support and encouragement to each other.
These events are also a great way to welcome new wives to a Presbytery, strategically allow time out from daily ministry for self care and to establish formal and informal support networks for ongoing contact between wives.
